The Danish Crime Prevention Council

The Danish Crime Prevention Council is an independent, knowledge-based council with more than 60 member organizations.

Our mission is to make sure as few people as possible become victims of crime. We thereby contribute to greater public safety in Denmark.

DKR and EUCPN

EUCPN (European Crime Prevention Network) is a crime prevention network within the EU.

The network was established in 2001 and aims to connect actors at the local, national, and European levels, sharing knowledge on research and practice in the field.

The Head of Secretariat at DKR serves as the national representative for Denmark in the network.

On the EUCPN website, you can find more information as well as:

  • Systematic Reviews – the effectiveness of crime prevention initiatives
  • Descriptions of EU-funded prevention projects
  • Toolboxes – crime prevention toolkits for local practitioners.

ECPA

Once a year, the European Crime Prevention Award (ECPA) is awarded to the best crime prevention project in Europe within a theme chosen by the current EUCPN presidency. The ECPA promotes the exchange of best practices and highlights achievements in crime prevention throughout Europe.
